A great meat dish with a side of vegetables.
Some would call these rissoles, but to a rissole is made from beef mince (ground beef) whereas these are made from sausage mince. I add different fillings in my patties. You can add vegetables or bacon, really anything you wish.
You can't go wrong making these.
You want your oil heated on medium heat. If the heat is too low, they will go soggy and not cook properly. If the heats too high the crumbs will burn.
Recipe
Makes 6 Patties
Ingredients
500 Grams Sausage Mince
1 Medium Onion
1 Teaspoon Hot Chilli Sauce
90 Grams Cheese
1 1/2 Cups Bread Crumbs
Oil for Cooking
Directions
In a bowl, add the sausage mince, onion, chilli sauce and cheese.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly.
On a plate or in a bowl, add the bread crumbs. Weigh your mixture. You should get 6 patties around 125 grams each. Make your patties into balls in your hand. Roll them over the crumbs one by one.
Flatten them slightly and set aside.
Add enough oil to shallow fry the patties. Heat the oil on medium high heat.
Place in the patties and cook them on one side for 3-5 minutes.
Turn them over and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
You want to turn them a few times. It's ok if you need to cut one to see if it's cooked through.
Serve them with any sides like mash and vegetables. Enjoy.
