This is my go to roast beef recipe.
Simple straight forward recipe. No fussy or complicated ingredients. Tastes fantastic and goes great with boiled vegetables and mash potato or roast vegetables and some gravy.
Delicious and juicy.
I cook the roast beef for 1 hour on 160 degrees Celsius for every 500 grams. Then to brown the beef, I open the foil and cook for a further 20 minutes. Left overs are great for sandwiches the next day.
Recipe
Makes 1 Roast Beef
Ingredients
500 Grams Roast Beef Rump (any Beef Roast is fine)
Smoked Paprika to Taste
Butter or margarine for Greasing
Oil or Lard for Cooking
Directions
Lay down enough tin foil to cover the roast beef. Using a brush or knife, grease enough of the foil to cover the roast beef with butter or margarine. Sprinkle your smoked paprika all around the roast beef.
Wrap the roast beef.
In a baking tray, add enough lard or oil to cover a quarter of the beef. Preheat your oven to 160. When the lard has melted or your oil is hot, add the roast beef. Cook for 1 hour on 160 degrees Celsius.
After 1 hour, open the foil up and cook for a further 20 minutes.
You can cut your beef hot or let it cool slightly. It cuts better cooled.
Add your beef on a plate with your sides. Enjoy!
