This soup is a must for winter.
This is a relatively simple and traditional soup, with great flavors and great for the winter season to warm you up.
So easy to make, but so great to eat.
This soup is easy to make and I make it every winter, but it takes all day to cook, though in the end it’s worth it!
Recipe
1 Ham Hock
700 Grams of Ham pieces
500 Grams Soup (or Lentil) Mix
1 Cup of Vegetable,
Beef or Chefs Master Stock. Click for recipe here:

26 Cups (9 Litres) of Water
Soak your soup (lentil) mix for around 12 hours I do mine overnight or per packet instructions.
Strain your soup (lentil) mix, then rinse and drain.
Add your soup (lentil) mix in a big pot.
Add your ham hock and ham chunks
Add your water and stock and bring it to the boil.
Once it's to a boil turn on low heat, cook it for 10-12 hours.
Cook it about 2/3 down, you can take the skin out but it breaks up and I choose to keep it in as its full of flavour.
Once cooked, add some in a bowl. You can freeze some for later and it's also great for the next day. Enjoy.
