Want to be fancy? Try some butterfly sausages.
I love making these sausages when I feel like eating something better than plain sausages. Thick sausages work best.
Make these at home – you won't be disappointed!
You can add any topping you like, but cheese is a must to make the butterfly shape.
Recipe
Makes 6 Sausages
Ingredients
6 Thick Beef Sausages
1 Medium Tomato
1/2 Medium Brown or Spanish Onion
5 Medium Button Mushroom
1/4 Capsicum
Grated cheese, to taste. Any variety is fine — I use shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese blend.
Directions
Finely dice the vegetables.
Mix in a bowl.
Heat some oil in a pan and add the sausages.
Turn them over every few minutes.
Cook them for 10 minutes. Make sure every side gets heated up evenly.
Drain and set aside.
Cut them lengthwise partially.
Put aluminum foil on a tray and place your sausages on it. I use the tray for the salamander (grill) but if you don't have one use a flat tray for the oven.
Put a generous heaping of vegetables on each mixture.
Put cheese on top however you like.
Place Under the Salamander (Grill) or in the Oven until the cheese is brown and bubbly.
Serve with some vegetables or side dish you like and enjoy. You can use any leftover mixture on some toast. Enjoy!
