Great as a side dish or as a nice plain lunch or dinner.
I love making pasta, and this is my take on Alfredo pasta. It’s nothing fancy, and It’s a great beginner level pasta and is super tasty.
Fast to make, but full of goodness!
Garlicky, cheesy, creamy, buttery, all the good things that describe an Alfredo pasta. You can use any pasta but for today’s dish I used penne.
Ingredients
Enough for 2 medium serves
1 cup of Penne
60 grams of 1 small Spanish Onion
3 Cloves of Garlic
50 Grams of Butter
250 Millilitres of Thickened Cream (Heavy Cream)
1 Handful of Parsley
Measure the penne.
Get the butter and set aside.
Dice the onion in small dices.
Cut the end of the garlic, then crush it with a knife.
Peel it.
Dice it up and set aside.
Don't chop the parsley, just break it off the stem to the leaves.
Measure the cream.
Add water into a pot large enough for your pasta. Add a teaspoon of oil and a pinch of salt.
When the water boils, add the penne and cook per pasta instructions.
The penne should look like this, you don't want to overcook your penne.
On medium heat, melt the butter. You cook on medium heat so the butter doesn't burn.
Add the onion and garlic. Let it sizzle until it's sauteed and you can smell the aroma.
Add the parsley.
Add the penne or another pasta of your choice.
Add the cream and toss. Cook the cream down for about 2 minutes until it gets thick.
Add the parmesan cheese and toss through.
The pasta sauce should look creamy and sticky.
Serve it on a plate either as a side dish or on its own. Enjoy!
